IMPORTANT INFO:
WHAT IS A QUAD?
A quad is a style of tournament where players are divided up into groups of four and play one another each once over 3 rounds. Points are awarded to the players after each round - 1 point for a win, 1/2 a point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss. At the end of the third round the player or players with the most points win the quad.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM LATE?
Players must check in between 8:55 to 9:20. Players who arrive after 9:20 may not be paired for the tournament and will not receive a refund. Why is this so strict? Once players are assigned to a quad it is extremely difficult to change the pairings - so to protect the quality of the tournament we cannot accommodate late arrivals.
IS THERE ANYWAY MY CHILD CAN TAKE A BYE IF I AM LATE?
No. Byes are not given in quad tournaments - each player must play all three games.
MY CHILD IS NOT A USCF MEMBER. WHAT DO I DO?
If you are not currently a USCF member you'll need to either sign up for a 1 year membership or renew your membership on our Quad registration page. Memberships all last one full year from the date purchased and are good for all USCF rated tournaments in the US.
MY CHILD IS A USCF MEMBER BUT I DON'T HAVE THE INFORMATION. WHAT DO I DO?
You can look up your child's USCF info from the link on our Quad registration page. The info we'll need to register your child for this tournament is their rating, USCF ID, and the membership expiration date.
WHERE SHOULD I DIRECT FURTHER QUESTIONS?
Our office is open Monday - Friday from 9am - 3:30pm.
Please feel free to give us a call anytime at (510) 657-1586.
